Description

Savory and satisfying, these bite-sized Stuffed Mushrooms are the perfect Italian-American appetizer for entertaining. Creamy and cheesy with a garlicky herb filling, they bake to golden perfection and make an irresistible party snack.

Ingredients

Mushrooms

  • 20 whole white mushrooms

Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the stuffed mushrooms.
  2. Prepare Mushrooms: Carefully remove the stems from the mushrooms and finely chop the stems. Set aside the caps for stuffing.
  3. Sauté Stems and Garlic: Heat a skillet on medium and sauté the chopped mushroom stems with the minced garlic until softened, then allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  4. Mix Filling: In a bowl, combine the sautéed mushroom stems and garlic with the softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  5. Stuff Mushroom Caps: Spoon the filling mixture into each mushroom cap generously, filling them completely.
  6. Bake: Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until the filling is bubbly and the mushrooms are tender.

Notes

  • For a golden, crunchy topping, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the stuffed mushrooms before baking.
  • To make this recipe vegan, substitute the cream cheese with a vegan cream cheese alternative.
