Description

These Smoked Salmon Avocado Roll Ups are fresh, creamy, and elegant appetizers, combining smoked salmon, ripe avocado, smooth cream cheese, and crisp cucumber. Perfect as a healthy, low-carb snack or light lunch, they require no cooking and come together quickly for an impressive dish.

Ingredients

Smoked Salmon Roll Ups

  • 8 oz (225 g) smoked salmon
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ cucumber, cut into thin strips
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cream cheese mixture: In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with the chopped fresh dill and lemon juice until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Lay out the salmon slices: Arrange the smoked salmon slices flat on a clean surface or a large plate to make spreading easier.
  3. Spread cream cheese mixture: Using a spatula or knife, spread a thin, even layer of the cream cheese mixture over each slice of smoked salmon.
  4. Add avocado and cucumber: Place slices of ripe avocado and thin cucumber strips along one edge of each salmon slice to prepare for rolling.
  5. Roll and chill: Carefully roll each salmon slice tightly around the avocado and cucumber fillings, then place the roll-ups in the refrigerator to chill for 10 minutes, helping them firm up.
  6. Slice and serve: After chilling, slice each roll into bite-sized pieces, arrange them on a serving platter, and season with freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • For an elegant touch, garnish with capers or additional fresh dill before serving.
  • These roll ups are best served chilled to maintain their texture and freshness.
  • Ideal for keto and low-carb diets as they are high in healthy fats and low in carbs.
  • You can substitute cream cheese with a dairy-free alternative to make this recipe lactose-free.
  • Use fresh lemon juice as it brightens the flavor and prevents avocado browning.
