Description

Crispy salmon bites coated in a creamy, sweet, and spicy Bang Bang sauce make an irresistible appetizer or quick dinner that’s ready in under 30 minutes. Perfectly seasoned and cooked salmon pieces are air-fried to a tender finish and tossed in a flavorful sauce combining mayonnaise, sweet chili, and sriracha for a delightful kick.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • pounds salmon, skin removed and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Bang Bang Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer or Oven: Set your air fryer or oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s ready to cook the salmon bites evenly and quickly.
  2. Season the Salmon: In a bowl, toss the cubed salmon with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well coated for balanced flavor.
  3. Cook the Salmon: Place the salmon cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer and air fry for 8–10 minutes until cooked through and crispy on the outside. Alternatively, bake in the oven for 12–15 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, and lime juice. Stir well until smooth and creamy.
  5. Toss or Drizzle Salmon with Sauce: Once the salmon bites are cooked, either toss them gently in the Bang Bang sauce to coat or drizzle the sauce over the top for serving.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Finish with a sprinkle of chopped green onions and sesame seeds to add color and texture. Serve immediately as an appetizer or with rice or lettuce wraps for a quick meal.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the salmon to maintain tenderness and juiciness.
  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha in the sauce to your preferred spice level.
  • Salmon bites pair well with steamed rice or wrapped in lettuce leaves for a light meal.
