Description
Peaches and Cream Ice Cream is a rich, creamy homemade frozen dessert featuring ripe peaches blended with fresh cream and vanilla for a sweet, refreshing summer treat perfect for warm-weather indulgence.
Ingredients
Peach Mixture
- 3 cups ripe peaches, peeled and diced
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Cream Base
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Peaches: Toss the peeled, diced peaches with ½ cup granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon lemon juice in a bowl. Let the mixture sit for 20 minutes to macerate and release natural fruit juices.
- Blend the Peaches: Blend half of the peaches until smooth while leaving the remaining peaches chunky. This creates a creamy texture with fruit pieces for the ice cream.
- Mix the Cream Base: In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups heavy cream, 1 cup whole milk, ¾ cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Combine Peach and Cream Mixtures: Stir the blended and chunky peaches into the cream base until evenly distributed.
- Chill the Mixture: Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 2 hours to thoroughly chill, which helps improve the ice cream’s texture when churned.
- Churn the Ice Cream: Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- Freeze to Set: Transfer the churned ice cream to a container and freeze for an additional 3–4 hours to firm up before serving.
Notes
