Description
These Oven-Baked Hamburgers are juicy, flavorful, and incredibly easy to make. Perfect for feeding a crowd without standing over a grill or stovetop, they deliver classic American taste with minimal effort and cleanup.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1½ lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 6 hamburger buns
Toppings & Condiments
- Lettuce
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
- Your favorite condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s hot enough to cook the burgers thoroughly and create a nicely browned exterior.
- Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier. For better airflow and browning, optionally place a wire rack on the baking sheet.
- Mix Ground Beef and Seasonings: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently but thoroughly to distribute the seasoning evenly without overworking the meat.
- Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each into a patty about ¾-inch thick, ensuring uniform size for even cooking.
- Place Patties on Sheet: Arrange the beef patties spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet or wire rack. This positioning helps heat circulate evenly around each patty.
- Bake: Bake the burgers in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes. Check doneness with a meat thermometer; the target internal temperature for well-done is 160°F (71°C).
- Add Cheese (Optional): If desired, place cheese slices on top of each patty during the last 2 minutes of baking so they melt perfectly over the burgers.
- Assemble and Serve: Allow the burgers to rest briefly after baking. Toast your buns if you like while the burgers rest, then assemble with lettuce, tomato, onion, condiments, and the patties. Serve hot and enjoy.
Notes
- Using a wire rack on the baking sheet enhances airflow and browning, resulting in a better texture.
- Toast the hamburger buns while the burgers rest to add extra flavor and prevent sogginess.
- These burgers freeze well, making them great for meal prepping and quick future meals.
