Description

An indulgent and luxurious gnocchi dish coated in a rich, creamy sauce with layers of flavor. This “millionaire-style” recipe is comforting, cheesy, and irresistibly smooth.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 400 g gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon or pancetta (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook gnocchi: Cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions, usually boiling them until they float to the surface, then drain well.
  2. Sauté garlic: In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Prepare the sauce: Add the heavy cream to the pan and bring it to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it fully melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  5. Combine gnocchi and sauce: Add the cooked gnocchi back into the pan and toss gently to coat them evenly with the creamy sauce.
  6. Add bacon or pancetta: If using, mix in the cooked bacon or pancetta now to infuse the dish with savory flavor.
  7. Season the dish: Season the gnocchi and sauce with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste. Stir well to combine all flavors.
  8. Garnish and serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately while warm and creamy.

Notes

  • Add mushrooms or spinach for variation and added texture.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best texture and flavor.
  • Do not overcook the sauce to prevent it from separating or becoming grainy.
