Description

These Maple-Glazed Brussels Sprouts are perfectly roasted until crispy and caramelized, then coated in a rich maple syrup glaze. The combination of salty and sweet flavors makes them an irresistible side dish, ideal for holiday meals or anytime you want to elevate your veggies. Optional toppings like pecans or bacon add extra texture and flavor.

Ingredients

Vegetables

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, halved

Seasonings & Oil

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Glaze

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Optional Toppings

  • ¼ cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • ¼ cup bacon bits (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s hot enough for roasting the Brussels sprouts to a crispy texture.
  2. Toss Brussels Sprouts: In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss thoroughly until each sprout is evenly coated.
  3. Roast: Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet, making sure not to overcrowd them for maximum crispiness. Roast for 25–30 minutes, turning halfway through to brown evenly.
  4. Glaze with Maple Syrup: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and drizzle the sprouts with maple syrup. Return them to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  5. Add Toppings and Serve: Once roasted and glazed, remove from oven and sprinkle with optional pecans or bacon bits if desired for added crunch and flavor. Serve warm as a delicious side or appetizer.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the pan when roasting.
  • These sprouts make a great side dish or can be included in an appetizer spread.
  • Substitute pecans with walnuts if preferred.
  • For a paleo-friendly version, add bacon bits instead of pecans.
