Description

This Maple Glaze for Donuts is a smooth, sweet coating infused with rich maple syrup flavor. Perfect for baked or fried donuts, it adds a delicious, bakery-style finish with just a handful of simple ingredients. The glaze is easy to prepare and can also enhance muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls, and coffee cakes.

Ingredients

Maple Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until evenly combined.
  2. Add Milk Gradually: Pour in 1 tablespoon of milk and whisk until the glaze becomes smooth. If needed, add additional milk a little at a time to reach your preferred consistency.
  3. Apply the Glaze: Dip cooled donuts into the glaze or drizzle the glaze evenly over the top of each donut for a delicious coating.
  4. Set the Glaze: Allow the glazed donuts to sit for 10–15 minutes so the glaze can set properly before serving.

Notes

  • Use pure maple syrup for the most authentic and rich maple flavor.
  • For a thicker glaze, reduce the amount of milk added.
  • This glaze is versatile and delicious on muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls, and coffee cakes as well.
