Description

Mango Avocado Salsa is a fresh, vibrant, and creamy salsa combining sweet diced mangoes and creamy avocados with crisp red onion, spicy jalapeño, and zesty lime juice. This colorful salsa is perfect as a topping for grilled chicken, fish, tacos, or simply enjoyed as a healthy and refreshing dip with tortilla chips.

Ingredients

Fruit and Vegetables

  • 2 ripe mangoes, diced
  • 2 ripe avocados, diced
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Other Ingredients

  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the diced mangoes, diced avocados, red onion, finely chopped jalapeño, and chopped fresh cilantro.
  2. Add Dressing: Drizzle the mixture with fresh lime juice and olive oil, if using, to enhance the flavor and add a light creaminess.
  3. Season: Sprinkle salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste over the salsa to balance the sweetness and acidity.
  4. Toss Gently: Gently toss all ingredients together until evenly coated, taking care not to mash the avocado so that the salsa retains a chunky texture.
  5. Chill: Cover and chill the salsa in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and enhance before serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm avocados to help the salsa hold its shape better and prevent it from becoming mushy.
  • For added texture and freshness, consider adding diced cucumber or red bell pepper to the salsa.
  • This salsa is best enjoyed the same day it is prepared to enjoy the vibrant flavors and fresh texture.
