Description

This Lemon Vanilla Black Tea Iced Tea blends robust black tea with zesty lemon and a subtle hint of vanilla, resulting in a refreshing and lightly sweetened drink that’s perfect for hot days and a delightful alternative to sugary beverages.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 4 black tea bags
  • 4 cups water

Sweetener and Flavor

  • ¼ cup honey or sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice

To Serve

  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil Water: Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a saucepan to ensure optimal brewing temperature for black tea.
  2. Steep Tea: Remove the boiling water from heat and place the 4 black tea bags into the water, letting them steep for 5 minutes to extract deep flavors.
  3. Sweeten Tea: Remove the tea bags and immediately stir in ¼ cup honey or sugar until completely dissolved for a smooth, sweet base.
  4. Add Flavorings: Pour in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and ¼ cup fresh lemon juice, gently mixing to combine these bright and aromatic elements into the tea.
  5. Cool Tea: Allow the tea to cool down to room temperature naturally before chilling, which prevents dilution and preserves flavor.
  6. Chill: Transfer the tea into the refrigerator and chill it thoroughly for about 1 hour to serve cold and refreshing iced tea.
  7. Serve: Pour the chilled tea over ice cubes and garnish each glass with lemon slices for an elegant, flavorful presentation.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or sugar according to your preference.
  • For a more robust tea flavor, steep the tea bags a couple of minutes longer, but be cautious of bitterness.
  • Store leftover tea refrigerated and consume within 3 days to maintain freshness and safety.
