Description

Tender chicken and crisp green beans tossed in a sweet, spicy, and savory honey-Sriracha sauce. This quick one-pan dinner is packed with flavor and makes an easy, protein-rich weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 700 g boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Vegetables

  • 400 g fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Sauce

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

Other Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Season the bite-size chicken pieces evenly with paprika, salt, and black pepper to enhance the flavor.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, Sriracha sauce, low-sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and grated fresh ginger until well combined.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté the Green Beans: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the trimmed green beans. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often, until the green beans are crisp-tender.
  5. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the green beans. Pour the prepared honey-Sriracha sauce over the chicken and vegetables.
  6. Thicken the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Add this mixture to the skillet and stir constantly. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and evenly coats the chicken and green beans.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the dish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately, ideally paired with steamed rice, brown rice, or cauliflower rice for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha to suit your preferred spice level.
  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier dish or chicken breast for a leaner option.
  • Add other vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or carrots for added nutrition and color.
  • For a lower-sugar version, reduce the honey or substitute with a sugar-free alternative.
