Description
A warm, spiced latte made with pumpkin, black tea, and cozy chai spices — the ultimate homemade fall drink that combines seasonal pumpkin purée with aromatic chai spices and smooth milk for a comforting beverage.
Ingredients
Tea Base
- ½ cup water
- 1 black tea bag
Latte Mixture
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin purée
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ginger
- ⅛ teaspoon cloves
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Steep the Tea: In a small pot, bring the water to a simmer, add the black tea bag, and steep for 5 minutes to extract a strong, flavorful black tea base.
- Combine Ingredients: Remove the tea bag from the pot. Whisk the milk, pumpkin purée, maple syrup or honey, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and vanilla extract into the hot tea, ensuring everything is well blended.
- Heat the Latte: Continue heating the mixture gently until it is warm, but be careful not to let it boil to maintain smoothness and prevent curdling.
- Froth and Serve: Use a whisk or milk frother to froth the latte until light and creamy. Pour into a mug and optionally sprinkle additional cinnamon on top for garnish.
Notes
- Use chai tea instead of black tea for a spicier, more traditional chai flavor.
- Add a shot of espresso to make a pumpkin chai latte with a caffeine boost.
