Description

A simple, hearty one-pan meal featuring seasoned ground beef and tender cabbage. Perfect for busy weeknights and packed with comforting flavor.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat to prepare the pan for sautéing the vegetables and meat.
  2. Sauté the onion: Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. Brown the ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks to ensure even browning and no large clumps.
  4. Add seasonings: Stir in the minced garlic, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper, mixing well to evenly coat the meat and release the flavors of the spices.
  5. Add cabbage and broth: Add the chopped cabbage and pour in the beef broth. Stir everything together to combine evenly.
  6. Cook the cabbage: Cover the skillet and allow the mixture to cook for 10–12 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally to ensure the cabbage becomes tender and the flavors meld together.
  7. Serve hot: Once the cabbage is tender and the beef mixture is well blended, remove from heat and serve immediately for a warm, satisfying meal.
