Description
A simple, hearty one-pan meal featuring seasoned ground beef and tender cabbage. Perfect for busy weeknights and packed with comforting flavor.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ¼ cup beef broth
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat to prepare the pan for sautéing the vegetables and meat.
- Sauté the onion: Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
- Brown the ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks to ensure even browning and no large clumps.
- Add seasonings: Stir in the minced garlic, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper, mixing well to evenly coat the meat and release the flavors of the spices.
- Add cabbage and broth: Add the chopped cabbage and pour in the beef broth. Stir everything together to combine evenly.
- Cook the cabbage: Cover the skillet and allow the mixture to cook for 10–12 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally to ensure the cabbage becomes tender and the flavors meld together.
- Serve hot: Once the cabbage is tender and the beef mixture is well blended, remove from heat and serve immediately for a warm, satisfying meal.
Notes
- Add red pepper flakes for extra heat if you prefer a spicier dish.
