Description

Grilled Peach Crumble is a delightful summer dessert that combines juicy, smoky grilled peaches with a buttery, crunchy oat and nut topping infused with warm cinnamon. This easy-to-make recipe elevates fresh peaches with caramelized grill marks and is perfect served warm alongside creamy vanilla ice cream and an optional drizzle of honey or caramel sauce, making it a crowd-pleasing treat for outdoor gatherings.

Ingredients

For the Peaches:

  • 6 ripe but firm peaches, halved and pitted
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Crumble Topping:

  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

For Serving:

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Honey or caramel sauce (optional)
  • Fresh mint (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium heat, approximately 375–400°F (190–200°C), ensuring it’s ready for grilling the peaches.
  2. Prepare the Butter Mixture: In a bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined to create the flavorful glaze for the peaches.
  3. Brush Peaches: Using a brush, apply the butter mixture generously to the cut sides of the peach halves.
  4. Make Crumble Topping: In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and chopped nuts. Cut the cold, cubed unsalted butter into this mixture using your fingertips until the texture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Grill Peaches (First Side): Place the peaches cut-side down directly on the grill rack. Grill for 4 to 5 minutes, allowing grill marks to form and the peaches to begin softening.
  6. Grill Peaches (Second Side): Flip the peaches over carefully and grill for an additional 3 to 4 minutes to cook them through but still firm enough to hold toppings.
  7. Assemble in Grill-Safe Dish: Transfer the grilled peaches cut-side up to a grill-safe skillet or baking dish. Spoon the crumble topping generously over each peach half.
  8. Grill the Crumble: Return the skillet to the grill, close the lid, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until the crumble topping is golden brown and crisp.
  9. Cool and Serve: Remove the skillet carefully from the grill and allow the crumble to cool slightly for a few minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and optionally drizzle with honey or caramel sauce and garnish with fresh mint.

Notes

  • Choose peaches that are ripe but still firm enough to hold their shape during grilling.
  • Nectarines can be used as a substitute for peaches if desired.
  • If a grill is not available, bake the assembled peaches and crumble at 375°F (190°C) for about 20 minutes until topping is golden and peaches are tender.
  • You can prepare the crumble topping up to 2 days in advance and store it refrigerated until ready to use.
  • Serve immediately for the best contrast between warm peaches and cold ice cream for the ideal dessert experience.
