Description

Dipped Heart Brownies are rich, fudgy chocolate brownies cut into charming heart shapes and partially dipped in smooth melted semi-sweet chocolate. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or any special occasion, these brownies balance a dense, chewy texture with a decorative chocolate coating and optional toppings like sprinkles or crushed nuts.

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup (170 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: sprinkles, crushed nuts, or sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and allow easy removal of the brownies.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract thoroughly until fully incorporated and the batter looks smooth.
  4. Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in the unsweetened cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix just until a smooth batter forms, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour and Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Cool the Brownies: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack to firm up and make cutting easier.
  7. Cut into Hearts: Remove the brownies from the pan, peel off the parchment paper, and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the brownies into heart shapes carefully.
  8. Melt Chocolate: Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave by heating in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  9. Dip Brownies: Dip half of each brownie heart into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coating. Place the dipped brownies on parchment paper.
  10. Add Toppings: Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle optional decorations like sprinkles, crushed nuts, or sea salt on top of the dipped area for added flavor and texture.
  11. Harden and Serve: Allow the chocolate to fully harden at room temperature before serving the beautifully decorated brownies.

Notes

  • Ensure brownies are completely cool before cutting to maintain clean and precise heart shapes.
  • Leftover brownie pieces can be repurposed into cake pops or layered desserts to minimize waste.
  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
