Ingredients

- 1 lb penne or fettuccine pasta
Chicken
- 2 chicken breasts, sliced

- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about a cup of pasta cooking water before draining the pasta.
- Sauté Chicken: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken breasts and season with salt and pepper. Cook the chicken until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook Mushrooms and Garlic: In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they release their moisture and start to brown, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Make Creamy Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine with the mushrooms and garlic. Simmer gently for a few minutes to thicken the sauce slightly. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toss Pasta and Chicken: Add the cooked pasta and sautéed chicken back into the skillet with the creamy sauce. Toss everything together to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some reserved pasta water to loosen it to your preferred consistency.
