Description

Cheesy Ranch Potatoes and Smoked Sausage is a hearty one-pan dinner featuring crispy roasted baby potatoes, smoky smoked sausage, ranch seasoning, melted cheddar cheese, and fresh parsley. This easy-to-make American favorite delivers comforting flavors and is perfect for a family meal.

Ingredients

Potatoes and Seasoning

  • 1½ lbs baby potatoes, halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (about 1 oz)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Sausage

  • 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced

Cheese and Garnish

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for roasting the potatoes and sausage.
  2. Season Potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the halved baby potatoes with olive oil, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Roast Potatoes: Spread the seasoned potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to start softening and crisping the potatoes.
  4. Add Sausage: Remove the baking sheet and add the sliced smoked sausage on top of the potatoes. Toss gently to combine and spread everything evenly again.
  5. Continue Roasting: Return the baking sheet to the oven and roast for another 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the sausage slices are browned and cooked through.
  6. Add Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the potatoes and sausage on the baking sheet.
  7. Melt Cheese: Place the baking sheet back in the oven for 5 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, sprinkle chopped parsley on top, and serve the cheesy ranch potatoes and smoked sausage immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Add broccoli or bell peppers when roasting for extra vegetable servings and color.
  • Use turkey sausage or chicken sausage to reduce fat and calories for a lighter version.
