Caramelized Onions
- 2 onions, thinly sliced

Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) to prepare for baking the potatoes.
- Prepare Potatoes: Slice each potato thinly across its width but be careful not to cut all the way through, allowing the slices to fan out during baking.
- Make Brown Butter: Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma.
- Season Potatoes: Brush the sliced potatoes generously with the brown butter, and sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Bake Potatoes: Place the potatoes on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 40–50 minutes until the potatoes are tender inside and crispy on the edges.
- Caramelize Onions: While the potatoes bake, heat olive oil in a pan over low heat and cook the thinly sliced onions slowly, stirring frequently, until they become golden brown and caramelized, about 20-30 minutes.
- Serve: Once the potatoes are baked, top them with the warm caramelized onions and serve immediately for a delicious side dish.
Notes
- Place chopsticks or wooden spoons on each side of the potatoes before slicing to prevent cutting all the way through.
- Baste the potatoes with the brown butter mid-way through baking for extra crispiness.
