Description

Balsamic Peach Chicken is a delightful sweet and savory summer dish featuring tender chicken breasts topped with caramelized fresh peaches and a rich balsamic glaze. This easy skillet recipe is perfect for quick weeknight dinners or casual entertaining, offering a burst of fresh flavors with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Sauce and Garnish

  • 2 ripe peaches, sliced
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts to ensure they are well seasoned.
  2. Heat the skillet: Pour olive oil into a large skillet and set it over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to warm until shimmering but not smoking to prepare for searing the chicken.
  3. Cook the chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breasts into the hot skillet. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust and are cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  4. Caramelize peaches: Add the sliced peaches to the same skillet. Cook them over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become lightly caramelized and softened.
  5. Prepare the balsamic glaze: Stir in the balsamic vinegar, honey, and minced garlic into the skillet with the peaches. Let the mixture simmer gently for 3 to 4 minutes to thicken slightly and blend the flavors.
  6. Finish the dish: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the balsamic peach sauce over the top of the chicken. Allow the chicken to reheat for a minute or two in the sauce to meld the flavors.
  7. Garnish and serve: Remove the skillet from heat, garnish the chicken with fresh basil leaves, and serve immediately with your choice of side dishes like rice, mashed potatoes, or grilled vegetables.
