Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 200 g udon noodles
- 200 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
Sauce and Aromatics
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Prepare the udon noodles according to the package instructions until tender, then drain and set aside to keep warm.
- Sauté aromatics: Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Cook the shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the pan and cook, stirring frequently, until they turn pink and are cooked through, approximately 3-4 minutes.
- Add the sauce: Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey (or brown sugar), sesame oil, and optional chili flakes. Mix well to combine all flavors.
- Toss noodles: Add the cooked udon noodles to the pan and toss everything together thoroughly to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce and shrimp.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve immediately while hot for best flavor.
Notes
- You can substitute shrimp with chicken or tofu for different protein options.
- Add vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas to boost nutrition and add crunch.
