Ingredients
For the brownies:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in lemon juice and zest.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool slightly. Whisk glaze ingredients together and spread over warm brownies.
- Let glaze set before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For extra citrus flavor, add a touch of orange zest along with lemon.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
