Ingredients

For the brownies:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in lemon juice and zest.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Allow to cool slightly. Whisk glaze ingredients together and spread over warm brownies.
  9. Let glaze set before slicing into squares.
