Description
Watermelon Lemonade is a refreshing, sweet, and tangy drink that perfectly combines the natural sweetness of watermelon with the tartness of fresh lemons. It’s the ideal beverage for summer, picnics, or any time you need a cool and hydrating drink.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed (seeds removed)
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3–4 lemons)
- 2 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 cups cold water (or sparkling water for a fizzy version)
- Ice cubes (for serving)
- Fresh mint (optional, for garnish)
- Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Blend the watermelon: Add the cubed watermelon to a blender and blend until smooth. Strain the puree if you prefer a smoother lemonade.
- Make the lemonade base: In a pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey or sugar. Stir until the sweetener dissolves completely.
- Combine the watermelon and lemon: Add the blended watermelon puree to the pitcher. Stir to combine. For a more diluted lemonade, add 2 cups of cold water. For a fizzy version, replace cold water with sparkling water.
- Chill and serve: Pour the lemonade over ice cubes in glasses and stir gently to chill.
- Garnish and enjoy: Garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices for a refreshing presentation.
Notes
- For a minty twist, add a few fresh mint leaves to the blender along with the watermelon.
- To make it spicier, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few slices of jalapeño to the blender.
- For a slushy version, blend the watermelon and lemon mixture with ice.
