Description

Watermelon Juice is a refreshing, hydrating drink made with fresh watermelon. It’s naturally sweet, easy to prepare, and can be customized with lime, mint, or a splash of coconut water. Perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed (about half a medium watermelon)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (optional, for a tangy twist)
  • 12 teaspoons honey or agave (optional, if you prefer it sweeter)
  • 1 cup cold water or coconut water (optional, to dilute)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the watermelon: Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out the flesh. Remove any seeds if desired, then chop the watermelon into small cubes.
  2. Blend the watermelon: Place the watermelon cubes into a blender and blend until smooth. If you prefer a thinner juice, add cold water or coconut water to help blend the fruit and make the juice more liquid.
  3. Strain (optional): If you want a smoother juice, you can strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any pulp. This step is optional, depending on your texture preference.
  4. Add flavor: Stir in lime juice and honey (if using), adjusting the sweetness and tartness to your liking.
  5. Serve: Pour the watermelon juice into glasses filled with ice cubes, garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Minty watermelon juice: Add fresh mint leaves to the blender along with the watermelon for a refreshing, herbal twist.
  • Citrus watermelon juice: Add orange or lemon juice for a citrusy kick.
  • Spicy watermelon juice: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a small slice of jalapeño for a spicy version.
  • Sparkling watermelon juice: Top the juice with sparkling water or club soda just before serving.
  • Watermelon smoothie: Add a handful of ice or frozen fruits like strawberries or mangoes to create a thicker, smoothie-like texture.
