Description
A warm and cozy twist on the classic whiskey sour, made with bourbon, maple syrup, vanilla, and a hint of cinnamon. Smooth, slightly sweet, and perfect for fall or winter.
Ingredients
Bourbon Whiskey Sour:
- 2 oz bourbon
- ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
- ½ oz pure maple syrup
- ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract (or vanilla bean paste)
- Dash of ground cinnamon (or 1–2 dashes cinnamon bitters)
- Ice cubes
For Garnish:
- Cinnamon stick
- Lemon wheel or twist
- Grated nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add bourbon, lemon juice, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick, lemon wheel, or nutmeg sprinkle.
Notes
- Adjust maple syrup to taste depending on sweetness preference.
- Add a frothy touch: shake with an egg white or aquafaba before adding ice, then dry shake again with ice.
- Can substitute cinnamon bitters for ground cinnamon for a smoother finish.
