Description

Twix Cookies are a delightful twist on the classic candy bar, featuring a buttery cookie base, a gooey caramel layer, and a sweet chocolate drizzle. These indulgent treats are perfect for dessert, snacks, or sharing at a party.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the caramel layer:

  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional, for a creamier caramel layer)

For the chocolate drizzle:

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Gently press each dough ball down with your fingers to flatten them slightly.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are soft. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. If using store-bought caramel sauce, warm it slightly to make it easier to spread. Mix in 2 tablespoons of heavy cream if you want a creamier texture.
  9. Once the cookies are cooled, spoon about 1-2 teaspoons of caramel sauce onto the center of each cookie. Spread it evenly with the back of the spoon.
  10. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and butter together in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
  11. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the caramel layer on each cookie using a spoon or a piping bag.
  12. Let the chocolate harden before serving, refrigerating for 15-20 minutes to speed up the process.
  13. Once the chocolate has set, the cookies are ready to serve. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For added crunch, sprinkle crushed nuts like almonds or pecans on top of the caramel before drizzling with chocolate.
  • Try using milk chocolate or white chocolate chips for a different flavor twist in the drizzle.
  • For a sweet-salty flavor, add a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of the caramel layer before drizzling with chocolate.
