Description
A light and flavorful turkey salad with fresh herbs, perfect for using up leftover turkey. Creamy mayonnaise and crunchy vegetables make it a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 4 cups diced white meat turkey
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 cup celery, diced
- 1/3 cup white onion, diced
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme (about two sprigs)
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh rosemary (about a sprig)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Dice the celery and onion. Mince the fresh thyme and rosemary leaves, discarding any stems.
- In a large bowl, mix the diced turkey, celery, onion, thyme, rosemary, black pepper, and salt.
- Stir in the mayonnaise until everything is evenly coated. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- For the best flavor, cover and refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve it on a sandwich, over a green salad, or with crackers.
Notes
- For sweetness, add diced apples, grapes, or dried cranberries.
- For extra crunch, fold in some chopped pecans, walnuts, or slivered almonds.
- Make it lighter by substituting mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a tangy twist.
- Add cheese like shredded cheddar, mozzarella, or Parmesan for added flavor.
