Ingredients
Pie
- 1 pie crust (homemade or frozen)
Filling
- 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 2–3 potatoes)
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup milk or cream
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- Pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it is hot enough for baking the pie evenly.
- Prepare Filling: In a large bowl, whisk together the mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, brown sugar, milk or cream, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Assemble Pie: Pour the prepared sweet potato filling into the unbaked pie crust, spreading it evenly to the edges.
- Bake: Place the pie on the middle rack of the preheated oven and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the center is mostly set and the crust is golden brown.
- Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool completely before slicing to let the filling set properly.
