Ingredients
Sweet Potato Fries
- 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Guacamole
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- Salt, to taste
- Optional: finely chopped red onion or cilantro
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Prepare the Fries: Toss the peeled and cut sweet potato fries in olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to evenly coat each fry with the spices and oil.
- Arrange and Bake: Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not overcrowded to allow crispy edges. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping them halfway through to bake evenly until they are golden and crisp.
- Mash the Avocados: While the fries are baking, in a bowl, mash the ripe avocados with lime juice, minced garlic, and salt to taste until smooth and creamy.
- Add Optional Ingredients: Stir in finely chopped red onion or cilantro if desired, to add extra freshness and flavor to the guacamole.
- Serve: Serve the warm sweet potato fries with the fresh homemade guacamole on the side for dipping.
Notes
- For extra-crispy fries, soak cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes, then dry thoroughly before baking.
- Alternatively, fries can be made in an air fryer at 400°F for 15–18 minutes for a quicker method.
- Add chili powder or cayenne pepper to the fries seasoning for a spicy kick.
