Description

Cap’n Crunch Bars are a nostalgic, no-bake treat combining crispy Cap’n Crunch cereal with a rich, buttery marshmallow mixture to create a sweet, crunchy snack that’s perfect for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6 cups Cap’n Crunch cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

Optional Toppings

  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • Sprinkles or crushed candies for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray to ensure the bars don’t stick.
  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pot over low heat, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Once melted, add 4 cups of mini marshmallows, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth and completely melted.
  3. Combine with Cereal: Remove the pot from heat and quickly stir in 6 cups of Cap’n Crunch cereal, ensuring all the pieces are evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Press into Pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan. Using a buttered spatula or wax paper, press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan to form an even layer.
  5. Cool and Set: Allow the bars to cool and set at room temperature for at least 30 minutes until firm.
  6. Optional Decoration: If desired, melt 1/2 cup white chocolate chips and drizzle over the cooled bars, then add sprinkles or crushed candies for extra flair. Allow the chocolate to set before cutting.
  7. Cut and Serve: Once fully set, cut into bars or squares and serve as a sweet snack or dessert.

Notes

  • For easier cutting, slightly grease the knife or use a warm knife.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • You can substitute mini marshmallows with large marshmallows but increase the quantity to 5 cups for optimal texture.
  • Add mix-ins like mini chocolate chips or nuts for variety.
  • Ensure to press the mixture firmly into the pan for compact bars that hold together well.
