Description

Soft and golden bread rolls stuffed with a savory filling of your choice—perfect as a snack, appetizer, or light meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg (for brushing)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
  • 1 cup filling of choice (e.g., sautéed vegetables, cooked chicken, cheese, or a combination)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add warm milk and butter to the dry ingredients and knead into a soft dough, about 8–10 minutes.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and flatten each into a circle.
  6. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle and pinch the edges together to seal, forming a ball.
  7. Place the rolls seam-side down on the baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 20–30 minutes.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
  9. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • You can use any filling—vegetarian or meat-based.
  • Ensure the filling is cool before stuffing to prevent soggy dough.
  • Brush with garlic butter after baking for extra flavor.
  • These rolls freeze well—just reheat in the oven before serving.
