Description
Soft and golden bread rolls stuffed with a savory filling of your choice—perfect as a snack, appetizer, or light meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
- 1 cup filling of choice (e.g., sautéed vegetables, cooked chicken, cheese, or a combination)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm milk and butter to the dry ingredients and knead into a soft dough, about 8–10 minutes.
- Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and flatten each into a circle.
- Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle and pinch the edges together to seal, forming a ball.
- Place the rolls seam-side down on the baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 20–30 minutes.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- You can use any filling—vegetarian or meat-based.
- Ensure the filling is cool before stuffing to prevent soggy dough.
- Brush with garlic butter after baking for extra flavor.
- These rolls freeze well—just reheat in the oven before serving.
