Ingredients
- 1 (15.25 oz) box of yellow cake mix
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 (21 oz) can strawberry pie filling
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry filling. Use the back of a spoon to gently spread the cream cheese mixture, but it’s okay if it doesn’t cover completely.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese and strawberry layers. Do not mix.
- Pour the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix to help the topping bake to a golden, crisp texture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
- Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
