Description

A savory and vibrant Stir-Fried Beef with Ginger and Vegetables recipe, featuring tender beef steak, fresh vegetables, and aromatic ginger and garlic. Quick and flavorful, perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 300 g beef steak (flank, sirloin, or rib-eye steak works well)
  • ½ white onion (approx. ¾ cup)
  • ½ red bell pepper (approx. ¾ cup)
  • 45 slices ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
  • 12 stalks green onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables: Thinly slice the onion, red bell pepper, ginger, and garlic, and chop the green onions.
  3. Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add oil. Add the beef strips and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until they begin to brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add more oil and toss in the ginger and garlic. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the onion and red bell pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Combine Beef and Vegetables: Return the beef to the skillet, add the green onions, and stir for 2 more minutes.
  6. Season: Season with salt, pepper, and additional spices to taste.
  7. Serve: Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a more flavorful sauce, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, or hoisin sauce.
  • For a spicier dish, add chili flakes or fresh chopped chili.
  • For a vegetarian option, replace the beef with tofu or tempeh.
  • Additional vegetables like carrots, snow peas, or mushrooms can be added for extra nutrition and flavor.
