Ingredients

Beef and Broth

  • 2 lb beef stew meat or sirloin tips
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Vegetables

  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Thickening Agent and Seasoning

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with ¼ cup water)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Chop the carrots, potatoes, onion, and mince the garlic. Cut the beef into bite-sized tips if not already prepared.
  2. Combine in Slow Cooker: Place the beef, prepared vegetables, beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce into the slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Cook Slowly: Cover and cook on the Low setting for 6 to 8 hours, or on High for 3 to 4 hours, until the beef is tender and vegetables are cooked through.
  4. Thicken Sauce: Mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir it into the slow cooker. Cook uncovered for an additional 10 minutes to thicken the gravy.
