Ingredients
Beef and Broth
- 2 lb beef stew meat or sirloin tips
- 3 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Vegetables
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 2 potatoes, cubed
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Thickening Agent and Seasoning
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with ¼ cup water)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Chop the carrots, potatoes, onion, and mince the garlic. Cut the beef into bite-sized tips if not already prepared.
- Combine in Slow Cooker: Place the beef, prepared vegetables, beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce into the slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook Slowly: Cover and cook on the Low setting for 6 to 8 hours, or on High for 3 to 4 hours, until the beef is tender and vegetables are cooked through.
- Thicken Sauce: Mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir it into the slow cooker. Cook uncovered for an additional 10 minutes to thicken the gravy.
- Serve: Serve the beef tips and vegetables hot, ideally over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for a filling meal.
