Ingredients
Steak & Shrimp
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Prepare Steak and Shrimp: Pat steak and shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure proper searing and prevent steaming.
- Season Steak: Season the steak pieces evenly with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder for a balanced, savory flavor.
- Season Shrimp: Lightly season the shrimp with salt and pepper to complement the steak without overpowering.
- Heat Oil: Warm olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to get the pan hot enough for searing.
- Sear Steak: Add steak bites in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until they develop a brown crust; then remove and set aside to keep warm.
- Cook Shrimp: In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque; remove and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic in Butter: Reduce heat to medium, add butter and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not burnt.
- Add Flavorings: Stir in red pepper flakes (if using) and fresh lemon juice to create a tangy, spicy garlic butter sauce.
- Combine and Toss: Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the skillet and toss everything thoroughly in the garlic butter sauce to coat evenly and heat through.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top and serve immediately for best taste and presentation.
Notes
- Use large shrimp (16–20 count) for best texture and balanced cooking time.
- Don’t overcrowd the pan—cook the steak and shrimp in batches if needed to ensure proper searing.
- This dish is delicious served over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta to soak up the garlic butter sauce.
- Leftovers store refrigerated up to 2 days; reheat gently to preserve texture.
