Description

This rustic garlic rosemary skillet bread is a golden, fragrant delight, baked to perfection in a cast-iron pan. It’s crispy on the outside and irresistibly soft on the inside, infused with the aromatic flavors of garlic and rosemary.


Ingredients

Dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for greasing)

Additional Flavorings:

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped (plus extra for topping)
  • Flaky sea salt, for finishing

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add warm water and 1 tbsp olive oil. Mix until dough comes together.
  2. Knead dough on a floured surface for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down dough, then fold in minced garlic and chopped rosemary.
  5. Grease a cast-iron skillet with olive oil. Place dough in skillet, stretching to edges.
  6. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Brush top with remaining olive oil, sprinkle with extra rosemary and flaky salt.
  8. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.
