Description

The Peach Basil Iced Tea Mocktail is a refreshing and flavorful drink combining the sweetness of ripe peaches, the herbal notes of fresh basil, and crisp iced tea. It’s a delightful non-alcoholic beverage perfect for hot days and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 4 cups brewed and chilled black or green tea (or your favorite herbal tea)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar (optional, depending on sweetness preference)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra basil leaves and peach slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sliced peaches and fresh basil leaves. Add 1/2 cup of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, until the peaches soften and the basil releases its aroma. Mash the mixture to release more juice, then strain it through a fine mesh sieve to remove the solids. Set the peach basil syrup aside to cool.
  2. If you want a sweeter mocktail, add honey or sugar to the brewed tea while it’s still warm, stirring to dissolve. Let the tea cool completely or refrigerate it to speed up the process.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the chilled tea, peach basil syrup, and fresh lemon juice. Stir well to combine.
  4. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the peach basil iced tea mocktail over the ice. Garnish with extra basil leaves and peach slices for a beautiful and fragrant touch.
  5. Serve chilled and enjoy this refreshing, non-alcoholic mocktail!

Notes

  • For a minty twist, substitute basil with fresh mint leaves.
  • Add sparkling water or club soda for a fizzy version of this mocktail.
  • Use herbal teas like chamomile or rooibos for a caffeine-free option.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or jalapeño slice to the peach basil syrup for a spicy kick.
