Description
Crispy, golden Parmesan crisps seasoned with Italian herbs and garlic powder, perfect as a savory snack or appetizer, and naturally gluten-free.
Ingredients
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Cracked black pepper or red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a small bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and optional cracked black pepper or red pepper flakes. Stir until well mixed.
- Spoon small mounds (about 1 tablespoon) of the Parmesan mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each mound slightly with the back of a spoon to form small rounds.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the crisps are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- Remove from the oven and let the Parmesan crisps cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a serving plate.
Notes
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese works best for the crisps, as it melts better than pre-grated cheese.
- For a spicy version, add more red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
- To prevent sticking, use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- These crisps can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1 month.
- If making ahead, store the crisps at room temperature to maintain their crispiness.
