Description

Crispy, golden Parmesan crisps seasoned with Italian herbs and garlic powder, perfect as a savory snack or appetizer, and naturally gluten-free.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cracked black pepper or red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and optional cracked black pepper or red pepper flakes. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Spoon small mounds (about 1 tablespoon) of the Parmesan mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each mound slightly with the back of a spoon to form small rounds.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the crisps are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  5. Remove from the oven and let the Parmesan crisps cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a serving plate.

Notes

  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese works best for the crisps, as it melts better than pre-grated cheese.
  • For a spicy version, add more red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
  • To prevent sticking, use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • These crisps can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1 month.
  • If making ahead, store the crisps at room temperature to maintain their crispiness.
