Description

A quick and flavorful one-pan meal featuring Italian sausage, colorful bell peppers, onions, and seasonings. Perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep, or serving with crusty bread or pasta.


Ingredients

    Italian Sausage and Peppers:

  • 1 lb Italian sausage links (mild or hot)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup crushed tomatoes (or tomato sauce)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the Italian sausages on all sides, about 5–6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add onion and bell peppers. Sauté for 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes; cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  5. Return sausages to the pan, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes until sausages are fully cooked.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
