Description

Golden, flaky puff pastry wrapped around seasoned sausage makes these mini sausage rolls the ultimate party snack or appetizer. Easy to prepare and bake, they’re always a crowd favorite.


Ingredients

Ground Beef Sausage:

1 lb (450 g)

Puff Pastry:

1 sheet, thawed

Egg:

1, beaten (for egg wash)

Dijon Mustard:

1 teaspoon (optional)

Garlic Powder:

½ teaspoon

Onion Powder:

½ teaspoon

Dried Thyme:

½ teaspoon (or sage)

Salt and Pepper:

Pinch

Sesame Seeds or Poppy Seeds:

Optional topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix sausage meat: In a bowl, combine sausage with garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Roll out puff pastry: into a rectangle. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard if using.
  4. Place sausage mixture: in a log along one long edge of the pastry. Roll pastry tightly around the sausage and seal the edge.
  5. Cut into pieces: 1½–2 inches and place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  6. Brush tops: with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
  7. Bake: for 18–22 minutes until pastry is golden brown and sausage is fully cooked.
  8. Serve: warm with ketchup, mustard, or dipping sauce.

  • Can be made ahead and frozen before baking—just bake from frozen, adding 5 extra minutes.
