Description

Tiny skewers of fresh mozzarella, cherry or grape tomatoes, and basil—perfect bite‑sized Caprese appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 16 cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 8 ounces mini mozzarella balls
  • 16 fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: pesto or balsamic reduction for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse tomatoes and basil; drain mozzarella if needed.
  2. On each toothpick or short skewer, thread a tomato, a folded basil leaf, and a mozzarella ball; repeat until ingredients are used.
  3. Sprinkle skewers with salt and pepper.
  4. Optionally, serve with pesto or drizzle with balsamic reduction.

Notes

  • If basil leaves are large, fold them in half before threading.
  • Make balsamic reduction by simmering ¼ cup balsamic vinegar with 2 tbsp honey until thickened and coat‑back‑of‑spoon consistency.
  • Best assembled just before serving; storing briefly in airtight container is OK.
