Description
Tiny skewers of fresh mozzarella, cherry or grape tomatoes, and basil—perfect bite‑sized Caprese appetizers.
Ingredients
- 16 cherry or grape tomatoes
- 8 ounces mini mozzarella balls
- 16 fresh basil leaves
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional: pesto or balsamic reduction for serving
Instructions
- Rinse tomatoes and basil; drain mozzarella if needed.
- On each toothpick or short skewer, thread a tomato, a folded basil leaf, and a mozzarella ball; repeat until ingredients are used.
- Sprinkle skewers with salt and pepper.
- Optionally, serve with pesto or drizzle with balsamic reduction.
Notes
- If basil leaves are large, fold them in half before threading.
- Make balsamic reduction by simmering ¼ cup balsamic vinegar with 2 tbsp honey until thickened and coat‑back‑of‑spoon consistency.
- Best assembled just before serving; storing briefly in airtight container is OK.
