Ingredients
Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef (or beef, turkey, or a mix)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
For Serving:
- Toothpicks, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare meatball mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix until just combined.
- Form meatballs: Roll mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake 15–18 minutes, or until meatballs are browned and cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Insert a toothpick into each meatball for serving.
- Serve: Serve warm with marinara sauce, BBQ sauce, or honey mustard for dipping.
Notes
- To keep warm for a party, place cooked meatballs in a slow cooker on “warm” with sauce.
- Make ahead: Shape meatballs and freeze raw on a tray. Transfer to a bag, then bake from frozen (adding 3–4 minutes extra cook time).
- Mini cocktail sausages can also be swapped in for variety.
