Description

Loaded cheese fries are the ultimate indulgent comfort food, with crispy fries smothered in melty cheese, topped with crispy beef, green onions, and a drizzle of sour cream.

Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked beef, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Toss the cut potato fries in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. Bake the fries for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  4. While the fries are baking, cook the beef until crispy and crumble it into small pieces. Slice the green onions and set aside.
  5. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the hot fries. Return the fries to the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
  6. Remove the fries from the oven and top with crumbled beef, sliced green onions, and a dollop of sour cream.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Storage: Leftover loaded fries can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat the fries in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5-10 minutes, or until heated through. You can also microwave them, though they may lose some of their crispiness.
  • Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor experience.
  • For a spicy twist, add sliced jalapeños or drizzle with hot sauce.
  • To keep fries crispy, bake them in a single layer and flip halfway through the cooking process.
