Description
Loaded cheese fries are the ultimate indulgent comfort food, with crispy fries smothered in melty cheese, topped with crispy beef, green onions, and a drizzle of sour cream.
Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked beef, crumbled
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- Toss the cut potato fries in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Bake the fries for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- While the fries are baking, cook the beef until crispy and crumble it into small pieces. Slice the green onions and set aside.
- Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the hot fries. Return the fries to the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
- Remove the fries from the oven and top with crumbled beef, sliced green onions, and a dollop of sour cream.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Storage: Leftover loaded fries can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
- Reheating: Reheat the fries in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5-10 minutes, or until heated through. You can also microwave them, though they may lose some of their crispiness.
- Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor experience.
- For a spicy twist, add sliced jalapeños or drizzle with hot sauce.
- To keep fries crispy, bake them in a single layer and flip halfway through the cooking process.
