Description
These Loaded Baked Potato Fries are a fun and flavorful twist on traditional baked potatoes, with crispy fries, melted cheese, crispy beef, and green onions. Topped with sour cream (optional), they’re perfect for snacks, appetizers, or side dishes.
Ingredients
- 6 small to medium Russet potatoes
- 1 ½ tablespoons canola oil or olive oil
- Sea salt, to taste
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup finely shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 4 slices beef, crispy cooked and chopped
- 1 green onion, finely sliced
- Sour cream (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with cooking spray.
- Wash and scrub the russet potatoes. Cut them into fries by slicing the potatoes lengthwise into ½-inch thick strips.
- Place the potato fries in a large bowl, drizzle with oil, and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle with sea salt, garlic powder, and onion powder, and toss again to coat.
- Spread the seasoned potato fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy on the outside.
- While the fries are baking, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in garlic powder and onion powder, then set aside.
- Once the fries are golden and crispy, remove them from the oven. Immediately sprinkle cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the fries. Return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the fries from the oven and top them with crispy beef pieces and finely sliced green onions.
- If desired, serve the loaded fries with a dollop of sour cream on top. Enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicy version, add jalapeño slices or drizzle with hot sauce.
- For a vegetarian version, omit the beef and top with sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers.
- For BBQ-loaded fries, drizzle with BBQ sauce and top with grilled chicken or beef.
