Description

Lavender Chamomile Tea Latte is a soothing, caffeine-free herbal beverage crafted with fragrant chamomile and culinary lavender, combined with creamy steamed milk and a touch of sweetness. This delicately floral latte is perfect for winding down in the evening or enjoying a cozy moment of relaxation.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 chamomile tea bag (or 1 tablespoon loose-leaf chamomile)
  • ½ teaspoon dried culinary lavender

Milk Mixture

  • ½ cup milk of choice (dairy, oat, almond, or soy)

Sweetener and Flavor

  • 12 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil Water: Bring 1 cup of water to a gentle boil in a small saucepan, preparing the base for the tea infusion.
  2. Steep Tea and Lavender: Add the chamomile tea bag and ½ teaspoon of dried culinary lavender to the boiling water. Remove from heat and allow to steep for 5–7 minutes to extract fragrant flavors.
  3. Strain and Remove Tea Bag: After steeping, strain out the lavender and remove the chamomile tea bag, leaving a clear, infused tea.
  4. Heat Milk: In a separate saucepan or microwave, warm ½ cup of your milk choice until hot but not boiling, preparing it to blend with the tea.
  5. Froth Milk (Optional): Froth the warm milk to add creamy texture and enhance the latte experience, if desired.
  6. Sweeten tea: Stir in 1–2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract into the tea to taste, bringing sweetness and extra flavor.
  7. Combine and Serve: Pour the warm milk over the sweetened tea mixture, stir gently, and serve immediately for a comforting latte.

Notes

  • Use culinary-grade lavender only to ensure safety and flavor purity.
  • Start with a small amount of lavender as its flavor is strong and can overpower the tea.
  • For extra creaminess, opt for oat or whole milk over lower fat options.
  • This latte can also be served iced by chilling after preparation.
  • Add a pinch of dried rose petals as a floral variation if desired.
