Description

Crispy baked Korean BBQ chicken wings coated in a sticky-sweet and spicy glaze made with gochujang, honey, and soy sauce. Perfectly baked to achieve a tender inside and a caramelized outside, these wings are garnished with sesame seeds and green onions for a delicious appetizer or dinner option.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Korean BBQ Glaze

  • ½ cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

Garnishes

  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Season and Bake Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry and season them with salt and pepper. Arrange the wings on the prepared baking sheet, then bake for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
  3. Prepare Korean BBQ Sauce: While the wings bake, combine gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small saucepan. Whisk well and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes to meld the flavors and thicken slightly.
  4. Toss Wings in Sauce: Once baked, transfer the wings to a large bowl and toss them thoroughly with the prepared Korean BBQ sauce, making sure each wing is evenly coated.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Plate the wings and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately while hot and sticky.

Notes

  • For air fryer method: Cook wings at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes, shaking halfway through for crispiness.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding extra honey if you prefer a milder, less spicy glaze.
