Hibiscus Strawberry Lemonade is a refreshing, vibrant drink that combines the floral notes of hibiscus, sweet strawberries, and tangy lemon for a perfect summer beverage.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled
- 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 5 cups water, divided
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3–4 lemons)
- 1/4 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the dried hibiscus flowers, reduce heat, and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Strain and set the hibiscus tea aside to cool.
- In a blender, combine strawberries and 1/2 cup of water. Blend until smooth and strain if a smoother texture is preferred.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir in honey or sugar, adjusting sweetness as desired.
- Add the remaining 2 1/2 cups of water, stir well, and chill for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Serve over ice cubes, garnished with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- Storage: Store any leftover lemonade in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Sweetener Alternatives: Use agave syrup, maple syrup, stevia, or another sweetener of choice.
- For a sparkling version, add sparkling water or club soda in place of regular water when serving.
