Description

Classic gooey Rice Krispie treats cut into adorable heart shapes and decorated with sprinkles or chocolate drizzle. These festive no-bake treats are perfect for Valentine’s Day, parties, or fun classroom snacks.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows (about 4 cups)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Decorations

  • Pink or red sprinkles
  • Melted chocolate
  • White chocolate drizzle
  • Candy hearts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper and lightly grease to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt Butter: In a large pot over low heat, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter until fully liquefied.
  3. Add Marshmallows: Add 10 ounces of mini marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously over low heat until the marshmallows are completely melted and smooth.
  4. Flavor Mixture: Remove the pot from heat and stir in ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to enhance flavor.
  5. Add Cereal: Quickly add 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir gently but thoroughly until all the cereal is evenly coated.
  6. Press Into Pan: Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan. Press the mixture gently and evenly into the pan, being careful not to pack it too tightly to keep the treats light and crispy.
  7. Cool: Allow the mixture to cool for 20 to 30 minutes until set but not hardened fully.
  8. Cut Shapes: Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the set Rice Krispie mixture into heart shapes.
  9. Decorate: Optionally, decorate the heart-shaped treats using pink or red sprinkles, drizzle with melted or white chocolate, or add candy hearts as desired.

Notes

  • Lightly butter your hands or spatula to prevent sticking while pressing and shaping the treats.
  • For pink-colored treats, stir in a few drops of red food coloring with the marshmallows during melting.
  • Store the treats at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
  • These treats are perfect for kids’ parties and holiday gifting.
