Ingredients
-
1 lb sirloin steak or ribeye, cut into bite-sized cubes
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
4 tbsp unsalted butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp fresh thyme or dried thyme
-
1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Steak:
-
Pat the steak cubes dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper on all sides.
-
-
Sear the Steak:
-
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak cubes in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan).
-
Cook the steak bites for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked to your desired level of doneness (medium-rare, medium, etc.). Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
-
-
Make the Garlic Butter:
-
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and thyme. Sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic becomes fragrant and golden brown.
-
-
Combine:
-
Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce, making sure the steak pieces are well coated. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat the steak through.
-
-
Serve:
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes (if using). Serve immediately.
Notes
-
For extra flavor, you can add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to the garlic butter.
-
If you want a richer flavor, feel free to add more butter, depending on your preference.
-
These garlic butter steak bites are perfect on their own or served with sides like mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.
- You can also add sautéed mushrooms or onions to the garlic butter for an extra touch.
