Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- ¾ cup (160g) packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges but still soft in the center.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
