Ingredients
Crust
- 1 pre-made pie crust
Filling
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream or milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or Gruyère)
- ½ cup cooked bacon or ham (optional)
- ½ cup diced vegetables (spinach, onion, bell pepper)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for even baking.
- Prepare Crust: Place the pre-made pie crust into a standard pie dish, pressing it gently to fit the edges without tearing.
- Mix Egg Base: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the 4 large eggs, 1 cup of heavy cream or milk, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper until fully combined and slightly frothy.
- Add Fillings: Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheese and your chosen fillings such as cooked bacon or ham and diced vegetables into the pie crust to distribute flavors well.
- Pour Egg Mixture: Carefully pour the whisked egg and cream mixture over the fillings in the crust, making sure it fills the gaps but does not overflow.
- Bake: Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the quiche from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes before slicing into 6 pieces to serve.
Notes
- Use milk instead of heavy cream for a lighter texture.
- This quiche is great for meal prep and keeps well for 3 to 4 days refrigerated.
- Feel free to customize with different vegetables, meats, or cheeses based on preference and dietary needs.
